Philippe Cornier est né à Nimes, initié à la guitare par Nate Price ancien musicien de Louis Armstrong il rejoint la classe du Maitre Javier Quevedo à l’École Normale de Musique de Paris.
Sa sensibilité et sa virtuosité l’ont rapidement hissé sur la scène internationale:

Cet amateur de poésie, de Léo Ferré, des Beatles, de Mozart de Jimi Hendrix est aussi un amoureux de sa région, de ses monuments et de son terroir:Grand amateur de vins il a enregistré en 1999 “Ivresse de la guitare” qui associe à 12 vins du Languedoc 12 tubes pour la guitare !!
En 2000 sous la direction de Jean- Louis Forestier il enregistre les Concertos de Vivaldi et Giuliani et en 2005 Sueno en la Floresta !!
2012 Sortie de son nouvel Album”Por caminos de Santiago” le peintre Claude Viallat membre fondateur du mouvement “Supports surfaces ” a réalisé la pochette de cd cet album.
Philippe s’enrichit de rencontres, on se souvient du cinéaste Christophe Barratier « les Choristes »dans la Classe de Quevedo ,le journaliste Michel Cardoze, les écrivains Alain Montcouquiol , Michel del Castillo pour des lectures musicales en France et àl’étranger des passerelles entre divers créateurs tels que récemment à Damas le peintre Claude Viallat ou en 2011 l’acteur Philippe Caubére ainsi que la journaliste Laure Adler.
Doté d’un caractère fougueux il excelle dans le répertoire espagnol ou contemporain : Albéniz, Falla, Turina, Ginastera…sans oublier les grands concertos (Aranjuez ; Giuliani, Vivaldi,Villa lobos …)
Il est l’interprète du clip « Mano a Mano » réalisé par Pierre Robert et de la musique de “coeur de pierre” Court métrage de Lawrence Coté Collins vainqueur de Muvmédia 2007
Philippe Cornier a travaillé avec les plus grands Maîtres de la guitare classique Javier Quevedo à L’Ecole Normale de musique de Paris et au conservatoire de St Germain en Laye. René Bartoli, au Conservatoire National de Région de Marseille. Bernard Piris au Conservatoire du Tricastin. Alberto Ponce lors des « Guitarides de Camargue ».
Philippe Cornier participe a de nombreuses émissions radiophoniques et télévisées : France Inter (Lodeon) France Culture, France 3, France Bleu…
Philippe Cornier se produit régulièrement au sein de nombreux Orchestres : Virtuosi Pragenses, Parse Collégium, Bogen Quartet,ainsi qu’avec le pianiste Cédric Bambagiotti … La maîtrise, la générosité et l’étendue de son jeu en font un artiste international.

In the measured, conventional world of classical music, where interpretation of one’s instrument is a conformed devotion, Philippe Cornier breaks the tradition !
Introduced to jazz guitar by Nate Price, a former musician for Louis Armstrong, Philippe discovered his own passion for the guitar. He later trained with classical master Javier Quevedo (a student of Segovia, Pujol, and Yepes), at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. From there Philippe began a long career as a concert guitarist. Philippe’s dedication to his art has afforded him the privelege to perform in extraordinary and prestigious sites where the sound of his guitar resonates with inspired, spiritual beauty. He has had the pleasure of playing for international audiences at the Canterbury Cathedral in the U.K., Obcni Dum in Prague, the Museum of Mexico City, the Cloisters of Moissac, the Cathedral of Aix-en-Provence, as well as in his own region of the Languedoc-Roussillon–from the foot of the Pont du Gard at his own home, to the Tower of Constance in Aigues Mortes, or in the Abbey of the serene medieval village of St. Guilhem le Desert.
An amateur of poetry, and a devoted fan of the music of Leo Férré, Mozart, the Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix, Philippe also defines his love of the guitar through the Spanish and Czech cultures. His passion for his own region of the Languedoc, its monuments, and its enchanting landscape, have also always been a profound source of harmony and inspiration in his work. In 1999, he recorded “Ivresse de la Guitare” which associates 12 wines from the Languedoc with 12 significant compositions written for the guitar.
Gifted with a spirited and fiery character, Philippe excels in interpretations of his Spanish and contemporary repetoire–Albeniz, Falla, Turina, Ginastera–yet he maintains a reverent love of the grand concertos of Aranjuez, Guiliani, Fantaisie pour un Gentilhomme, and Villa Lobos. His talents are expressed through a repetoire that extends from the music of the Renaissance to the modern and contemporary.

Philippe Cornier was born in Nîmes, France.
Introduced to the guitar by Nate Price, a former musician for Louis Armstrong, Philippe later joined the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, studying under the instruction of Javier Quevedo. Philippe’s sensibility, virtuosity, and experience as a concert guitarist have propelled him onto the international stage where he performs as a soloiste, and at the heart of numerous orchestras, in prominent music festivals hosted at prestigious sites and historical landmarks worldwide.

Se narodil v Nimes v Provenci. Hru na kytaru začal studovat pod vedením Nate Price, který hrával s Louisem Amstrongem, a dále pokračoval ve studiu ve třídě mistra Javiera Quevado v Ecole Normale de Musique v Paříži. Díky své hudební citlivosti, virtuozitě i nabytým zkušenostem se brzy dostal na mezinárodní scénu. Hrál v katedrále v Canterbury ve Velké Británii, v Obecním domě v Praze, v Museo de la Ciudad ve městě Mexico, v Bayreuthu v Německu, ve Francii pak v katedrálách Saint Victor v |Marseille, Saint Bernard v Comminges a Saint Sauveur v Aix-en-Provence, ve slavných klášterech v Conques a Saint Guilhem le Désert, v Opéra Comédie v Montpellier a na mnoha jiných místech. Philippe Cornier je dědicem španělských mistrů kytary, svým nástrojem žije a v nejvyšší míře se inspiruje duchovním životem. Spolupracuje také s mnoha orchestry jak ve Francii, tak v zahraničí.
